Dr. Edward Giove, D.O.
Dr. Edward Giove is a board-certified family medicine physician dedicated to providing personalized, relationship-based care for patients of all ages. As an affiliate of MDVIP, Dr. Giove offers a concierge-style approach to primary care that emphasizes prevention, wellness and meaningful doctor-patient connections.
With more than 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Giove provides comprehensive care that includes preventive medicine, chronic disease management and coordination with specialists when needed. Through the MDVIP model, Dr. Giove is able to spend more time with patients, offering extended visits, same- or next-day appointments and a highly individualized wellness plan designed around each patient’s unique health goals.
Dr. Giove earned degrees from Rutgers University and the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey - School of Osteopathic Medicine (now Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine). He is certified in the BaleDoneen Method, which is medically proven and accepted to prevent and reverse heart attacks, strokes, and many other chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, dementia, kidney disease, and erectile dysfunction. Passionate about preventive health, Dr. Giove focuses on helping patients maintain long-term wellness through lifestyle guidance, early detection and proactive care.
Known for a compassionate and collaborative approach, Dr. Giove partners closely with patients to help them make informed decisions and achieve their best possible health. Outside of the office, Dr. Giove enjoys golf, rooting on his Philadelphia sports teams, and spending time with his family.
Amy Giove
Director of Business Operations
Amy helped Dr. Giove launch Daniel Island Family Medicine in 2019-2020, serving as Office Manager through 2022. Her current role is primarily "behind-the-scenes", tasked with accounts payable, billing, human resources, marketing and payroll. She now splits her work time between onsite at the front office checkout desk and remote work.
Before coming to South Carolina, Amy lived in New Jersey, Texas, Indiana and Tennessee. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Furman University and her MBA from The Citadel. After college, Amy worked for more than 20 years in business roles focused on market research, business strategy, and customer experience.
Outside of work, Amy has a challenging but rewarding role as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem with Berkeley County. She also enjoys reading, exercising, and relaxing with her family, friends, and two dogs.
Lilli Spivey
Office Manager
Lilli serves as the office manager for Daniel Island Family Medicine, where she oversees daily operations, coordinates scheduling, manages patient communications, and ensures that the office runs smoothly. Lilli was born and raised in Tennessee, and after earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee in 2021, she moved to Charleston in July of that same year to begin her career in healthcare management. Outside of the office, Lilli enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and exploring Charleston with her 7-year-old chocolate lab.
Kayla Alcorn
Licensed Practical Nurse
Kayla is a Licensed Practical Nurse from Knoxville, Tennessee, with over eight years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from the accelerated LPN program at South College in Knoxville and has worked in a variety of specialties, including rheumatology, endocrinology, allergy, primary care, and home health. Throughout her career, Kayla has remained dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care and values the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with her patients. She recently moved to Charleston, where she lives with her husband and their two German Shepherds. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and gardening.Ashley Blodgett
Certified Phlebotomist
Ashley has been a dedicated phlebotomist for seven years, bringing steady hands and a caring heart to every patient interaction. Before entering healthcare, she served six years in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped her strong work ethic and attention to detail.
She is married to her high school sweetheart and stays busy with their three kids and family dog. In her free time, you can find her reading, hunting for shark teeth, or enjoying a long, peaceful nap.
